Many of Northumbria’s ancient castles and the Roman forts along Hadrian’s Wall are within easy reach of Peigh Hills.
The Duchess of Northumberland’s spectacular garden at Alnwick is located within 15 miles of the farm.
Important bird sanctuaries, such as those at the Farne Islands and Coquet Island are also within easy reach.
Holy Island can be reached by car across the causeway, but this is covered by the North Sea at certain times of the day.
A visit to the nearby City of Durham provides an opportunity to visit the famous castle and cathedral and if shopping is your thing, there are many excellent malls and centres nearby, such as the Gateshead Metro Centre and Eldon Square in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Several golf courses are within easy reach. River and lake / freshwater fishing is also available for anglers. Sea-fishing trips can also be arranged, subject to prior arrangement.
